to the 100 block of glamor city place. when they arrived they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds to their upper bodies. they were rushed to the hospital and expected to survive. police say this was a drive by shooting officers say the vehicle where the gunshots came from was a black suv. police say it appeared words were exchanged between the victims and whoever was in that suv the shooting has unsettled the people who live here. >> surprised. but i was sleeping last night and then my wife heard shots and she woke up and she was telling me that somebody got shot and i heard the cops outside. >> reporter: police say the shooting is possibly gang related. they will find out more once they interview the victims at the hospital. officers are there standing by. this is the second drive by shooting that happened over night. about one hour later a mile away near doben and jackson avenue. shots were fired in that neighborhood. we are told those bullets hit a car and home. no one was injured. they are not sure if those two drive by shootings are related. coming up later in the newscast, w

with the huge winter storm, the national weather service is now calling historic. cities like amarillo, texas, wichita, kansas have broken snowfall records. 45 million in 21 states are being affected one way or another. the storm is blamed for at least three deaths. look at this. it's even dangerous after the storm blows away. in kansas city, the heavy wet snow is causing roofs to collapse. nobody was hurt in this building. but the snow is also bringing down tree limbs on to power lines. in kansas city thousands of people are reported without power. george, what's going on? >> reporter: this is par for the course here in the midwest. this is the second time in a week that this region has been hit by a big winter storm and as you mentioned it has proven to be deadly storm killing thee people and we see as crews try to clear these roads, unfortunately more snow is in the forecast here. snowplows hit the streets of kansas city tuesday to wage war against mother nature. this city on the kansas/missouri border could see up to a foot of snow from the massive blizzard before it ends. lindsay spent m

a battle tonight during the city council this evening. according to the chronicle, the residents approved of the plan to build the new homes but they don't like the plans to bring down the magnolia trees and the chilean trees. earlier this year, the planning commission approved that plan but it's gone back and forth and gone back to appeal twice now and they are planning ong having that meeting later on this evening. there are 25 residents here banning together who say they want the trees to stay here. that's where we stand. pretty big lot. the planning commission meeting expected to begin tonight at about 7:00. we are live here in menlo park. brian flores, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you, brian. >>> 7:05. breaking news. in the city in ohio and if i did not have a public pension i think that would have been working for the rest of my life. an earlier caller mentioned pensions being affected, but when this crisis happened, you had to have some faith in the economic system. when you look at what happened during the depression, we came out of it. i figured at that time that the country would eventually come out of it. where would we have been five years later? nowhere. i have a tendency to side with the republicans, but at the same time i still think that some of those protections were warranted for people. into the system you get so many people on fox news, knocking down public pensions. the average person in ohio makes about $26,000 per year. all of that talk about locking down those pensions is just bad, really bad, they should stop it. host: what is your pension look like? tell us about it. caller: it is not a bad tension. they did change this, it has changed. you are able to retire at 55, but they changed it to 57. you need 25 years in the system to do that. most people will go for 30 years in ohio. i am a

adn from new york city steve mcmahan. thank you to both of the. as we look at the state of the union, what do you think about the tone? what about the term of the president's delivery ended the way he was saying his message? guest: i think he did what many presidents do in the state of the union address, he laid out an agenda for the future. those things tend to be kind of a list. then he built to a crescendo at the end on having a vote on the gun-control measures that he has introduced. i thought it was a terrific state of the union address that did lay out the agenda. republicans know what it is he would like to accomplish. american people know what is at stake. now we will see if congress is willing to act. guest: you had the inaugural and the state of the union. he laid out a pretty aggressive liberal agenda. obviously there will be some differences of opinion that emerge out of this. whether it be the debt ceiling, the sequester, the continuing resolution of getting the budget, the sequence of things the speech set up in terms of the beginning of this course. having said that, i
